There is certainly no shortage of talent at The Children’s Center as employees and patients found out during the 1st Annual Children’s Center Talent Show. The event was organized by six patients as a classroom project. Employees were asked to participate by showcasing their best talent, while the patients acted as judges, just like on the television show "American’s Got Talent."
Acts ranged from a singing and dancing group to the classic children’s song “How Much is that Doggie in the Window” to monkeys jumping on a makeshift bed to the song “Ten Little Monkeys.” A throwback to favorite 1980s hit songs complete with neon colored outfits and 80’s hair styles, a pogo stick riding stunt man, and Thunder player look-a-likes dunking a basketball were also part of the show. The judges chose an award for each act. Some awards included Best Costumes, Best Singer, and Best Comedic Act. Prizes were chosen by the patient judges during a field trip to a party store.
