Boy Celebrates 100 Pounds!
Thanks to Parent-Friendly Doctor
At first glance, 16-year-old, Mitchell Pewitt, looks like any other teenager.
He’s got a thin build, but certainly is not the skinny kid he used to be.
At age 13, the Oklahoma City boy was only 66 pounds. His mother, Jaime, tried to tell doctors something was wrong, but they just told her, “He’ll start eating.”
Jaime’s motherly instincts knew better.
Mitchell has been a patient of The Children’s Center medical director, Darin Brannan, since the Pewitts moved to Oklahoma. Brannan immediately referred Mitchell to a specialist who determined the boy wasn’t getting the amount of testosterone he needed, then started medical therapy to help him grow. Brannan continues to monitor his progress.
“Dr. Brannan is the only doctor who listened,” Jaime said.
Mitchell recently hit a milestone when his body weight hit 100 pounds.
“He now wants to eat. His life is so much better now,” Jaime said.
Dr. Brannan practices at The Children’s Center Physician Clinic. If you would like to make an appointment with him or one of our other pediatric experts, call (405) 440-9866.
