Chuck Wepner visits The Children's Center
Former heavyweight boxer, Chuck Wepner, toured The Children's Center in Bethany, Oklahoma, on Friday, November 4, 2011. The Bayonne, New Jersey native meet with patients in the Center's Pediatric Medical Rehabilitation Unit (PMRU.) Wepner is credited as the inspiration for Rocky Balboa and the "Rocky" movie series. His boxing career peaked in 1975 with a 15-round bout with then World Heavyweight Champion Muhammad Ali.
The Children's Center Bowl Raises over $11,000
The Bethany Bronchos and Washington Warriors hit the gridiron for the second annual The Children's Center Bowl. The Children's Center and Bethany Public Schools were excited to build on the incredible success from last year's game. "This year was even bigger," said Albert Gray, chief executive officer of The Children's Center. "The two schools combined to raise $11,464 dollars for the 120 patients at our hospital."

Tornado Safe Room
May 24, 2011 was a historic weather day across Oklahoma. In the past, dangerous storms were nerve-wracking for employees, families, and patients of The Children's Center. Those nerves were calmed because of our new Tornado Safe Room!

Why I Ride- Dr. Albrecht
As the director of trauma and surgical care at The Trauma One Center at OU Medical Center, Roxie Albrecht, M.D., specializes in critical care and trauma surgery. Over the years, several of the young patients under Dr. Albrecht's care have made the journey to the Pediatric Medical Rehabilitation Unit (PMRU) at The Children's Center for rehabilitative care.
Parkland Elementary Choir
A big thank you to the Parkland Elementary Choir! The Yukon school came out today to perform for the patients at The Children's Center. It was a huge hit with the kids!

Ride Safe Oklahoma
ATV Ride Safe Oklahoma is an initiative by the OU Medical Center Level I Trauma Center, The Children's Center, and Oklahoma State University Cooperative Extension Services and 4-H Youth Development. Our goal is to decrease the incidence of injuries and fatalities from ATV use, increase the awareness of ATV safety guidelines and provide ATV safety courses for riders.
