Pediatric Medical Rehabilitation Unit
The Pediatric Medical Rehabilitation Unit (PMRU) provides family-centered medical and rehabilitative care to children and youth who have experienced traumatic injuries requiring acute rehabilitative care.
100% of patients have successfully returned home!
Admission Criteria:
- Sufficient impairments to require broad services multiple times per day
- Potential for significant recovery to a higher level of function
- 0-17 years of age
- Medically stable
- Primary need for medical rehabilitative services
- Resources available for transition to home

Nursing and Rehabilitative Care
Current patients have disabilities as a result of birth defects or complications, traumatic accidents and illnesses. Highly qualified staff members provide 24-hour medical, comprehensive rehabilitative therapies, respiratory care, special education, and training and support to families. The average length of stay for patients in the Nursing and Rehabilitative Care Unit is two years.

Admission Criteria
- 0-17 years of age
- Must require 24-hour nursing intervention, habilitation, or rehabilitation
- Children over age three must exhibit deficits in mobility and have no primary diagnosis of mental illness, including being emotionally disturbed or having autism

- Disorders resulting from trauma
- Severe medical conditions
- Failure to thrive
- Speech-Language disorders
